DAILY EXPECTATIONS
Helping Your Child Come to School Ready to Learn
To support a successful school day, it is important that children arrive at school prepared, comfortable, and ready to learn.
All classroom supplies are provided; families do not need to purchase any materials. Children should bring a backpack each day to carry papers and school items to and from school.
Please send your child dressed appropriately for the day’s conditions for outside activites as well as traveling on and off the bus. Students go outside daily when weather conditions allow, using both the playground and enclosed track area. We can walk or run the track while learning new songs or just giggling with our new friends. The new playground is safe and age appropriate giving them time to stretch muscles and learn to play together.
Breakfast and lunch are provided and are an integral part of our curriculum. During mealtimes, students learn to sit together as a community, try new foods, communicate appropriately, and take responsibility for their space. All meals meet NYS dietary requirements. Because meals are a learning experience, we ask that no outside food be sent in with students.
Transportation is provided, with aides on all buses. Students are safely belted as they travel to school with their classmates. Upon arrival, students are greeted by their teachers and welcomed into the school community. We begin each day by singing our morning song together. Through these consistent routines, students develop independence, confidence, and a strong sense of self within a safe and nurturing environment.
